Garment Industry Development Corporation Celebrates during New York Fashion Week

 

 

(February 18, 2009, New York, NY)  The Garment Industry Development Corporation (GIDC) celebrated its Twenty Five years of service to the New York Fashion Industry with a runway presentation at The Historic Hudson Theatre on February 17th, 2009.  Twenty Five The Show showcased Fall 2009 designs of some of New York’s freshest talent. 

 

The spectacular line up included the designs of Deibe Rondon, Nature vs. Future, Anna Maria Horsford, 2Fer, Sheila Elaine, Gina DeSilva, Chulette, Francoise Olivas, La China Loca, Audrey & Me, Kahri by Kahri Anne Kerr, Eva Khurshid, Dres, Dinna Soliman and Heather Huey.

 

Premiere guests included Anna Maria Horsford and Miss USA Crystle Stewart. 

Guests enjoyed the variety and authenticity of the theatre style presentation.  The post runway celebration continued at the Firebird restaurant to celebrate GIDC’s twenty five years.

 

 

The Garment Industry Development Corporation was established in 1984 by the City of New York, the Garment Workers’ Union (now UNITE HERE), and the New York Skirt & Sportswear Association to strengthen New York’s apparel industry.
